Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the Scientific Committee of ISANH, it is a great pleasure to announce the organization of
15th International Conference on Oxidative Stress Reduction, Redox Homeostasis and Antioxidants, which will be held at Institut Pasteur in Paris, on June 12-13, 2014.

During ISANH Antioxidants World Congress 2014, we will discuss how antioxidants can play their role by modulating redox signaling pathways and not a counter "balance" to oxidant formation. They act to modulate cells signaling domains in which redox signaling occurs. Mitochondria are a localized signaling domain and ROS (Superoxide and Hydrogen Peroxide) generated by respiratory chain are signaling molecules.

ISANH Antioxidants 2014 will discuss the mechanisms of redox regulation of cellular processes. Little is known of what the specific targets of ROS are and how oxidant and antioxidant signals are transmitted in the cell. To understand mechanisms of redox control and its role in all oxidative stress pathologies and aging, we need to know identities and functions of most of the participants in the redox process. We hope that Paris Antioxidants 2014 will provide a better understanding of the role of the aging process and redox control in physiological and pathophysiological states, and will lead to new therapeutic and disease-preventive agents.

Among strategic topics discussed during ISANH Antioxidants 2014:

  • Oxidative Stress, Redox Regulation & Modulation and Redox-Active Agents
  • Oxidative Stress & Biomarkers: Imaging of Oxidative Stress in 2014
  • Oxidative Stress & Stem Cells
    • Impact of Oxidative Stress on Cell Cycle
    • Effects of Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) on stem cell dynamism
    • Effect of Oxidative STress on mitochondria
    • Impact of Antioxidants on stem cells
  • Positive Effects of Oxidative Stress vs negative effects of antioxidants
    • Strategies to use Oxidative Stress to combat cancer
    • Strategies to modulate the harmful effects of antioxidants
  • Oxidative Stress, Ageing & Longevity: Where are we now?
  • Information obtained from the Naked Mode Rat Model to study longevity
  • Can we modulate longevity?
  • Oxidative Stress & Chronic Diseases: From Predictive to Preventive Medicine
  • Oxidative Stress, Antioxidants & Innovations
    • News devices, materials and kits to study oxidative stress
    • New synthetic antioxidants for industrial uses - Applications in biofuel, biodiesel and adhesives

Oxidative Stress Imaging in vitro / in vivo

During Paris Antioxidants 2014, we will discuss and present the recent advances on oxidative stress visualisation and imaging by using new methods. The scientific committee will allocate time for more presentations on the in vivo evaluation of oxidative stress and its impact on proteins, DNA and mitochondria.

Cell Cycle, Stem Cells & Longevity

The impact of oxidative stress on cell cycle, stem modulation and impact on longevity will be presented.
The positive and negative effects of ROS in all processes related to ageing and longevity will be also discussed.

To conclude this congress, we will organize a round table discussion to answer two strategic questions:

  • Oxidative Stress and Antioxidants: The positive and negative sides of the coin of antioxidants
  • The subtle balance between redox homeostasis, ROS and mitochondria homeostasis

With this exciting program, we wish to meet you in Paris next June.

Pr Marvin Edeas - Chairman of the Scientific Committee
Pr Miria Ricchetti - Chairman of the Local Organising Committee
